Just got the pclc program running recently, and have experience a couple annoying problems which I'm hoping it's because I haven't set the program right too start with...

While doing a timed race with 6 racers on a 5 lane track using the Trakmate interface board, when a drivers rotates out, then comes back in, his "Total" laps start at "0" again. Pictures in connected Zoom screen

Hello,

I use PC Lap Counter with the Scalextric powerbase pro system and I must say it work absolutely perfectly except for one issue I can not seem to fix.

When we race we use drivers pictures and upload these pictures to the main PC that the PCLC is loaded on. On this PC the pictures migrate to the Zoom screen without problem. However when we then connect the second PC and view the Zoom screen all the data works with respect to time, laps and fuel however the picture of the car ...

Pitstop Problem

Hi, new user trying out the software.

I have webcam set up for pitstop as per instructions usiing ZOne Trigger Pro 2.3

Entry into pit is detected and car is refuelled

PCLC says GO

When I do go the green GO flag is still up, the next lap does not count since the software still thinks I'm in the pits.

If I go back into pits it is detected and the green Go flag goes away and I can continue (even though I am actually parked in the pits!)

Can you advise what I am doing wrong ...

Hi,

Any help please. Is there a way to restart a heat in the middle of a race? Sometimes something doesn't go right at the beginning and we need to restart the race but can't figure out how to do this with PC LapCounter.

Also can one do a countdown inbetween segments? When we hit restart, say on the 2nd or 3rd or 4th heat, it just starts going and we have to vocally give a countdown. Would be nice if the software had a count down between heats.

Refueling car after run empty

I reciently ran a 4 hour enduro using fuel managment and had a problem after one team ran out of fuel. I am running version 4.46e with phiget boards using light bridge for pitstop sensor. The power to the lane was cut when the fuel ran out as expected but at the end of the hour I had trouble starting the next heat race for the car that ran out of fuel. I do not have the reset fuel after each segment checked. I would like to be able to refuel only the car which ran out and not the others.

Safety car (lane 6) exception from false start detection

Hi:

I wonder if it�s possible to add a checkbox that make an exception for false start to lane 6

If anybody makes a false start running with safety car (in aut mode) the safety car makes also a false start, as this car is not going to do a stop and go, when it have made 3 laps, safety car is out of the race with a black flag.

So it could be a good idea to be able to say that lane 6 is not affected with the false start detecttion

Our club got the program in the spring, but we have not used it yet because it is very complicated to use.

There are so many things to setup to make a race.

I got the following suggestions:

1. Stop adding more "nice to have" features for the next 6 month.

2. Make a wizard for those basic settings that you only have to set once

(Digital or analog, Number of lanes, lanecolors, HW and so on).

3. Show only settings that are relevant compare to the basic settings.

1) 4 damage in game levels (as you comented): Light, Medium, Severe, Total. All of them should be configurable.

I noticed that the gap time shown in the main window is the "overall race" difference, not the actual difference in the last lap.

I would like to have, at each lap, the time difference between each car.

Is this possible?

New Drag Race Feature Start Question

I notice that the topics here either address the 8/8/8 with slot-mounted IR sensors, but don't seem to talk about using the 8/8/8 with a light bridge. I will be using PCLC with Windows XP, a Phidget 8/8/8 and a light bridge above the track. We used our new light gantry to register pit stops in our 12 hrs race last saturday

It worked like a charm and made the race a lot more interesting

During the race 2 things came to mind - would it be very difficoult to include a sector time for the system? (could then use the light bridge as sector)? - could be great for training to see where time is lost - we use the phidget so have plenty of input possibilities :-)

Testing a joystick connection by simulation

I have a dead-strip scx and as far as I understood from different posts, I should try making a connection through the joystick port rather than the parallel port.

Now, suppose I am able to make that connection... is there a way I can simulate the cars passing through the dead-strip without actually having the cables connected to the tracks?

I'm asking this because I don't have the scx at home so I'd like ...

I'm trying to set up Velleman's K8000 interface in order to activate Start Lamps.

I want to have it for a near Slot Event in Spain.

Ok, I've done all tests that are explained on Velleman's MAnual, and the board is respondig well.

I've connected then the board to the PC:

SCL Led is On, an Mains is powered with 220Vac.

Paralel port is set as LPT1.

Output/Input range are D800-D807

and

Output/Input range are D480-D487

Drivers classement question

After finishing the race we print the "drivers classement" and use this for our "championship administration"...

We used to have an older version of PCLC, but after our update towards PCLC 4.47g this "drivers classement" shows other columns.

The last column used to be "finish time" and now it is replaced by "time on track" ... were the "finish time" is the time of the last stint and the "time on track" is the total of all stints.

Question is: Is it possible to configure the columns ...

Lapcounting : start of next stint question

Hi,

We noticed that, since we have done a software update, the lapcounting differs from our previous PCLC version... especially in the cases when the next stint is started.

So starting a timebased race: we start before our tracksensors to be able to detect jumpstarts, and before the start the number of laps for all drivers are at -1. So after startsignal the cars pass the sensor (drove 1 cm) and then the number of laps goes to 0. This is good !

But now: when the first stint is over (time ...

LPT problems (in vista?)

I have built my own infrared detector which I have connected to the LPT1 (pin 10 and 12). PC Lap Conuter does however not register any activity on the detectors, unless I start the "Parallell Port Monitor". When this program is running in the background, it works just fine but then my startlights gets messed up. The interface should work without that one, right? Is this a problem with Vista (maybe it's possible they didnt add full support for LPT ports in it)?

zoom window questions

We are still VERY happy with the program that is used every week without any problems whatsoever

As setup we have the zoom window activated and shown via dual-view to a different monitor (works great) - however just started to run races with rotation instead of heat based, and aparently the lane change is not shown in the zoom window before you press the restart button

Is this a "bug" or are we doing something wrong?

For the purpose we are considering to buy a ds-lightbridge and then connect this to our phidget card - has anyone done this - perhaps even have schematics for the pin assignment on the ds DIN connectors?

Sorry if this is redundant. I'd appreciate any help or insight. I'm running the latest version of PCLC. I have SCX digital with the pit box. My track is around 8 meters. (laps in the 2-3 second range) I'm using seb2 and a fairly powerful computer running XP.

I have fuel management in PCLC set to off and am attempting to just use the fuel management on the pit box which seems to work fine. I'm also running the chronometer and have it synced to PCLC. I removed any car or driver ...

Now I wanted to start using it for power control Issues, like for example, using it for starting lights and, when the lights are not green yet, the polarity is reversed, meaning that if anybody tries to start the car, the car would go backwards. PCLapcounter hangup at start race

Hi,

At our racetrack we are using the latest version of PCLapcounter (4.47g).

We have a lot of hangups lately... then the PCLapcounter does not react anymore.

This hangup happens just after the countdown has ended... All startlights are out, but there is no power on the track... the race timer stops at 00:01 and stays there. PCLapcounter does not react anymore and only thing we can do is kill the application.

Is there a way we can collect logging or tracing so you can look into this ...

I hear GO from PC Lap Counter near the end of a pit stop but the last bar on the Pit Box display is still blinking. A few seconds later the last bar is solid. Can I change PC Lap Counter so it says GO exactly the same time as the Pit Box shows a completed stop. I am using the new mode 2 interface.
