We use pclapcounter/DS300 with a relay card to switch off both time and track power at the same instant. Unfortunately it really takes some time after an incident on the track has happend till the mouse pointer is positioned and clicked on the pause button - normally several seconds.

Is there a possibilty to use a hot key in addition - I mean apart from a combination of keys? Most favourable I think would be the big Space button.

Thanks for the reply

Space bar is already implemented as a hot key for 'pause' cyclops
In fact you can use the space bar or the pause key.

Hello Guy,

Any chance of cutting off track power & pausing the software via remote control?

Good idea for marshalling larger tracks/large accidents.

Humm you right...it will be nice for large accidents.

Well done Guy!!

We are using the LPT1 interface and Dentronics relay board for power control http://users.skynet.be/bk274532/hardware.html
Your help in suggesting how we can connect a remote control relay card to this setup would be appreciated.

cheers

Concerning Pc Lap Counter remote control setting , look here : http://pclapcounter.winnerbb.net/viewtopic.forum?t=99
for the electronic part of remote control i can not help you very much but normaly it should work as a another detector using a input pin

Thought so. Finding an infrared relay card is not a problem. But how is the software to know when the relay is activated or deactivated scratch

Solution must be simple, just can't work it out Question

Here is an example of one such card
http://www.oceancontrols.com.au/controllers/infra_red_controllers.htm

And also here (middle of page, UHF Remotes)

Concerning this one : http://www.oceancontrols.com.au/controllers/infra_red_controllers.htm
When i tested the remote control in Pc Lap Counter i have just connected the pin 16 to pin 25 (or other ground pin) and this manipulation send a signal, so i think that if you connect the pin 16 and ground to a relay of the infra red remote controller boards it will activate the pin 16 when relay is ON.
I think there are people here in the forum who have more electronic knowledge than my and hope they can confirm this.

cheers

I think I understand...we are switching the SIGNAL to the software Question
Nothing to do with the remote control relay switching track power. The power control setup on the dentronics relay card in PCL remains unchanged Question

Yes that's it , power control in PCL remains unchanged.
In fact remote control only simulate the click on the 'pause' button (or start, restat...).
Your remote control hardware will activate a input pin and the specify action will be triggered by PLC.
