In the update window you can enter fractions of laps (since version 5.05)

Guy, in this example you explain how to enter fractions of laps in "decimal" style, like percentage.
In our club we use the sectors of track to identify where a car has finished the race.
Do you think is possible to add a field to enter the number of those sectors and count them for the final classification?
I mean, let's say our track is made of 90 pieces. If the car stops over the piece 34, i would like to enter that number somewhere.
The number of laps is the first classification, then, in case of same number, the classification is made with the sectors number.

Thanks and sorry if the question has been already posted but i didn't found anything about.

i don't think i need to add another field to enter the number of sectors as the decimal can represent your sector:
Sector 90 = 1 lap
Sector 34 = 0.34 lap
Sector 89 = 0.89 lap

So:
if a car stop over piece 34 just enter 0.34 ,
if a car stop over piece 89 just enter 0.89
if a car stop over piece 90 then enter 1 (complete lap).

I hope our track will come out with less than 100 sectors (still building it) or this method would not work.
If that's the case, probably i need to calculate the percentage based on track lenght and sector position, i think, because if i have 120 sectors, the software thinks that 0,110 is less than 0,89.
Maybe inserting 0,089 could do the trick.
Oh, another thing: it seems that when you insert the numbers and move on the next field, it adds the number instantly. If i made a mistake (someone telling me the wrong number), the only way to correct is to subtract the same amount and redo.
Wouldn't be easier if you can insert the numbers, verify that are correct and then save only on press of "Ok" button?
Or am i missing something in the procedure?

You don't miss something, the update window instantly update laps because in fact the that window is designed to be always opened (for the race director on a another screen for example)
